This book is a historical and political story from 1959 for 13 and up written by a nigerian novelist named Chinua Achebe.
The book is about a family man who has been haunted by the mistakes and pathetic reputation his father has left him with as he has to balance his masculinity/tribe reputation and family, but little did he know that one action would soon change his life. The characters include the main character Okonkwo, his father Unoka, Nwoye his son and, Ezinma his wife, Umuofia his daughter and other characters you will find in the story.
This story includes themes of Betrayal, family abuse, worship, colonialism, and banishment in the late 1880's Nigeria where all of the events of the story would take place.
the story is very expansive, although very similar to other stories for its time it gives the reader a view in african life in the late 1880's with it's vast amount of characters, locations, scenarios, and word play that the main character Okonkwo finds him self in. Not only that but it was also based on the colonization of Africa, there's a lot to take in.
